EnHealthy
My blog (Enhealthy) is all about healthy Mediterranean food, mostly plant based but it’s not an exclusive vegan or plant-based blog.
I Welcome all food lovers with no judgment.
I believe that food is memory and joy, but also it affects how we feel. Food should make us feel good. To taste good and nourishes our bodies. If we eat bad food because it tastes amazing, our health and quality of life would be affected. This can result in negative feelings toward food. On the other hand, any guilt about food, shame about the body, or judgment about health stress the brain and these terns negative for our body. We could eat the healthiest meal on the planet, but if we are thinking toxic thoughts the digestion of our food goes down and our fat storage metabolism can go up. Likewise, we could be eating a nutritionally challenged meal, but if our head and heart are in the right place, the nutritive power of our food will be increased.
By learning how to make healthier and more mindful choices, we may be able to control our appetite, we may also gain a feeling of calm and high energy levels, improved health, improved body image, be more positive and most of all be happy!
At Enhealthy I create recipes with a Mediterranean healthyish.. Greekish.. Cypriotish…..touch but mainly with lots of love.
In Cyprus is not only what we eat but how we eat it as well! Is most on enjoying food and drink with loved ones.
We connect food with happy memories, with family, with friends and having good time!
So, if you eat healthy food with family and friends you probably going to be very healthy and definitely happy!
So, check it out!
Meet Marina
My name is Marina, I am the founder of Enhealthy. I am not vegan but I love cook and eat mostly plant based local food.
I live in Cyprus, which is a very beautiful sunny island, a healthy and safe place to live and raise a family.
I am a mother of two monsters (as I call them) 1st (monster) Jonathan was vegan from birth until 5 years old, by his own choice, he was spitting anything that was animal product, now he could eat me if it was possible, he doesn’t like his vegetables to be cooked, only raw vegetables, he doesn’t like green small leaves or a lot of things in his plate.
2nd (monster) Nayia eats anything mostly sweets and broccoli, she loves broccoli.
Husband doesn’t eat lentils, green peas, chickpeas, or any beans, loves traditional food like pasticcio, koupepia, roast chicken.
Generally, we are trying to eat lots of seasonal vegetables & fruits, nuts, seeds, lots of olive, avoiding dairy foods, and a very low amount of meat & fish, avoid processed food.
Guess what happens when I am cooking, it’s a chaos….most of the ingredients have to be smash or blend in so they don’t show (it’s my secret so don’t tell)
Sooo everything I cook is taste-tested and approved by all these picky-eaters.
My passion for being in the kitchen I really don’t know where it came from because my mother didn’t like cooking at all but of course she was cooking the basic stuff like koupepia (dolmades), pasticcio, lots of legumes, salads, afelia, roast chicken etc. my father never pass from the kitchen, but he can do a few things like fried eggs, kleftiko & octopus in the oven.
I remember myself in the kitchen cooking from a very small age, experimenting a lot, messing my mum’s kitchen hearing her screaming that I wasted all her supplies!
Fast forward my blog was created when I understood that we are what we eat, if we eat well, good things will happen and I would like to share this with the world!
I hope I can inspire you!!
