Baked fries with BBQ sauce

Ingredients
BBQ sauce
- ½ cup chopped onions
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic gloves
- ½ tablespoon smoke paprika
- 1 tablespoon dried mustard
- 4 tablespoons vinegar
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup carob syrup
- 3 tablespoons tamari
- salt and pepper
Fries
- 8 big potatoes chopped in 1 cm thick fries
- 1 tablespoon smoke paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- salt and pepper
Instructions

- Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Line a baking sheet. Place chopped potatoes in a big bowl field with water for 30 min. Drain liquid and dry potatoes well.
- Place chopped potatoes in the bowl and add paprika, thyme, onion powder.
- Mix potato well, spread coated potato chips in a single layer, leaving space around each potato, on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes; flip fries and continue baking until crisp and browned, about 20 more minutes.
BBQ sauce
- In a medium saucepan, add olive oil, chopped onions, sauté until soft and brown. Add the rest of ingredients of the BBQ sauce. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for 5-7 minutes.
